Hoole is one of Chester's best residential areas, and the housing shows it. Long runs of well-kept Victorian and Edwardian terraces along Hoole Road and the side streets, most of them owner-occupied, most of them with at least one bathroom that's overdue an update. The houses are solid but they come with the usual period quirks: narrow access, old soil stacks, and floors that have had a hundred years to settle.
We fit bathrooms in houses like these every week. The trick with tiling in a period property is not to fight the building. If the walls aren't plumb, we level them properly before tiling rather than trying to hide it with thick adhesive. If the joists flex, we board over them. The finished room looks better and the tiles stay put for years, not months.
Hoole is a twenty-five minute drive from our base in Eastham. We do bathroom renovations in CH2 regularly and treat Hoole jobs like local work.
